By placing soft butter in the bell-shaped part on the underside of the lid, filling the container with cold water, and closing the lid, you can keep butter soft and easy to spread at room temperature. (Though it's not suitable for Japanese summers, of course.) With Le Creuset's characteristic color and shape, and a substantial feel, I believe this product will be irresistible to Le Creuset fans.
