The front side is composed of old indigo-dyed cloth with skillfully stenciled eggplants, outlined with hand-stitched sashiko stitching, and a section of yukinko kasuri. Each eggplant has a unique expression, creating a dynamic design. This is a lucky pattern, "Naseba Nasu" (If you do it, you can achieve it, with "nasu" meaning eggplant). It's very carefully and elaborately made, with the dignity and composure of a work of art. There's a signature at the bottom that appears to read "Hiroko." I believe it's a work by an artist, but I'm not sure. The back has a modern feel that could easily be used as the front, and it's made by piecing together two types of old cloth. It has a moderate thickness and is made of sturdy fabric, weighing 85g. It's much larger than a placemat, so it can be used as a table center. Size: 55cm wide x 35.5cm long There may be some errors.
