I strive to ship as quickly as possible. I have been using Mercari since May 2021. I have disposed of over 100 books and other items through Mercari. Books are basically stored at home in a bookshelf with a glass front door. In November 2021, I was made to feel uncomfortable by an unusual buyer calling herself Angel (believed to be a female nurse residing in Ageo City, Saitama Prefecture). Although the tracking number from Japan Post showed the item as delivered, she claimed she hadn't received it even after a week. She neglected to do the necessary verification with Japan Post, which is the buyer's responsibility, so I contacted the delivery person directly, who confirmed the delivery. When I told Angel this, she repeated abusive language that I hesitate to write down, so I had the administrators terminate the transaction. It was probably a false claim that she hadn't received the item. Since then, I have been trading with caution, considering that a certain number of such unusual people exist among trading partners. On October 9, 2021, I noticed unauthorized use of Merpay Smart Payment by an unknown person and contacted Mercari, but it took more than two weeks before a resolution began to move forward. Mercari may want to call it a phishing scam, but I maintain that the problem was with Mercari's vulnerable system (October 30, 2021). I am decluttering a vast amount of books and DVDs. Many of them are old books without barcodes, which is difficult.
