Set of six fruit picks from the 1960s-70s, purchased at a flea market in Berlin, Germany. They have been stored unused since purchase. The design is reminiscent of Showa-era retro goods from Japan, but five of the picks, excluding the black one, are products of the long-established German cutlery maker, Henckels/Zwilling. The markings on the back read "18 ROSTFREI" and "18 STAINLESS," which is the German way of saying "stainless steel." The black one is from the 1970s in Japan, found in a time capsule of Showa-era goods at home. This one is marked "STAINLESS STEEL." The pink and black ones have nostalgic patterns (image 3). There are two ivory-colored ones, but they are not the same color; they are slightly different shades of ivory in terms of brightness and hue (image 7). They look good stored upright like toothpicks in small glasses. In terms of condition, there is some slight wear on the resin parts. There is a small gap at the joint between the red handle and the fork (image 9). There are shallow scratches on the back of the black stainless steel part, visible under magnification (image 6). There are small scratches and dullness on the stainless steel parts. (The images appear a bit dark due to the backlighting, but the actual color is a brighter silver.) There are no particularly noticeable damages, but these items were actually used in ordinary households during the East German era and Showa-era Japan.
