Ko-Imari (Old Imari) Aigutani (Blue Kutani) Kakiemon Ai-Kakiemon (Blue Kakiemon) Ko-Kutani (Old Kutani) Ko-Sometsuke (Old Sometsuke) Early Imari Late 1600s to early 1700s This is a small dish from the early to mid-Edo period. While I cannot pinpoint the exact date, it is a well-made dish with a good "kaku-fuku" mark (square good fortune mark). There is a slight kiln scar on the foot, but it is covered with glaze. There are no chips or cracks; it is a perfect, undamaged piece. The firing is excellent, and it rings with a high tone when flicked with a finger. The design is similar to Ko-Sometsuke, and I believe it is a fine piece. It can be used as a dish for condiments, a chopstick rest, or a shallow sake cup.
