This is a part designed to improve the sound cohesion and clarity of intonation for trombones. It may also be helpful for those whose sound tends to be unfocused. This one has a main shaft diameter of 5mm. I previously made one with a 6mm main shaft, but I received feedback that a lighter version was desired, and that it should be able to be added to instruments that already have a main slide, so I made this one with a slightly thinner main shaft. ※ Reason for being a "defective" item The threads were cut incorrectly, causing the threaded part to be off-center or not straight. It can still be used as a brace without issue. The length can be adjusted from approximately 97 to 110mm. (Personally, I think around 105mm is the best.) The dish part is about 12mm. The reason for using two nuts is to prevent loosening. I believe it's better to use two, but it should still be able to be fixed with one. Originally, I made this because I wanted to add a brace to Yamaha's first-generation Custom and first-generation Pro models. I think the effect of attaching it will be more noticeable on instruments that don't have a brace on the main slide. I have confirmed that it can be attached to Yamaha YSL-643 and YSL-842. There is a certain range of adjustment, so if the width fits, I think it can be attached to other trombones and instruments. (I have also confirmed that it can be attached to a V.Bach 42B.) The previous item I listed was made by soldering the base and dish part, but this one is made with silver brazing for a stronger joint. Although there should be no problem with use, please be aware that this is a handmade item, and there may be differences in the brazing/soldering and finish. Also, the finish is not like a commercial product, so please understand this beforehand. I have taken and uploaded photos for each item, so please use them to make your judgment. There aren't many adjustable braces for trombones, and I originally made this because I wanted to use it myself. I would appreciate it if you would consider it. As stated, this is a defective item.
