Deba knife, blade length 17.1cm, 297g. The spine is about 8.6mm thick near the top of the heel. It's a brand from Takeuchi Hamono Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in Mino City, next to Seki. The current brand is Chikurin, so this is a brand from a while back. They seem to have been quite popular, as they are often in stock. The blade condition is very good, with almost all of the diagonal lines characteristic of a new blade remaining. The handle is water buffalo horn, but it has some insect damage, so please check the photos carefully. It doesn't seem to affect the use of the water buffalo horn, so I used it as is. It seems like it will last for a while. I sharpened it thoroughly, put an edge on it, and polished it. Please see my profile for detailed restoration processes.
