The carving on the upper part of the inkstone rim is a wonderful work. From the sea to the hill, the stone pattern flows beautifully from the upper right to the lower left in a mottled pattern. When light is applied, it sparkles like a galaxy. Also, two unique light brown stone surfaces characteristic of Amabata stone appear on the upper left of the inkstone hill, making it individualistic. The sides of the inkstone are oval and carefully smoothed. On the underside of the inkstone, the center part is carved down to about 3mm, leaving about 12mm from the edge, for a low finish.
