This is an Edo Komon kimono dyed with Bishamon Kikko (a hexagonal pattern), Mitsu Ogi (three fans), and chrysanthemum motifs on a bluish-green background. It is made from a substantial, high-quality Ichikoshi fabric, dyed with excellent dye and fabric quality, characteristic of domestically produced raw silk from the late Showa period. The difference from recent fabrics is that when worn, it drapes smoothly along the body, does not wrinkle easily even during long periods of seiza (sitting on the knees), and if it does wrinkle, hanging it on a hanger will help it regain its shape!
