This is a jumbo-sized PET container sold by a certain shochu maker for making umeshu (plum wine), pre-filled with white liquor. I purchased it last year and used it for about six months to make umeshu. The capacity is 12.5L when full. The opening is 4.7cm in diameter, and it can barely fit the largest size of commercially available ume plums (4L, diameter 4.5-4.9cm). Image 5 shows a size comparison with a standard 1.8L bottle. The manufacturer's recommended amount for making umeshu in this container is 5.4L of white liquor, 3kg of ume plums, and 1.5kg of rock sugar (adjust to your preference). Compared to glass bottles, it's overwhelmingly lighter in weight (245g), making it easier to handle when making the same amount. It will be within the maximum size for standard mail (total of the three sides within 90cm), so I will not use a cardboard box.
